One receipt, some shared items, some that are just yours. Mark each item, say who paid, and see exactly who owes whom, to the cent.

1. People

    2. Items

Shared items are split evenly between the people ticked. Personal items go to one person.

      3. Who paid

          How the grocery split works

Each shared item is divided evenly, to the cent, between the people who share it. Leftover cents go to some people so the total always adds up exactly. Personal items count only toward their owner. Then Billsplitly compares what each person owes with what they paid and works out the fewest payments.

Example: Alex pays a $50.24 receipt. Milk, eggs, bread and dish soap are shared by all three. Alex and Jo share the coffee, and the protein bars are just Sam's. Sam pays Alex for a third of the staples plus the bars, and Jo pays for a third of the staples plus half the coffee.

          Frequently asked questions

          How are odd cents handled?

A $10.00 item shared by three people becomes $3.34, $3.33 and $3.33, so the shares always add up to the item price.

Can two people pay for one receipt?

Yes. Add another payer and enter how much each one paid. Leave one amount blank to give that person the rest.

What about tax or a bag fee?

Add it as a shared item, or as a personal item if only one person's purchases were taxed.

          Is my receipt saved?
